A site development permit and a building permit (see specific forms below) are required for any new building a building permit is required for any addition or alteration that affects the structural design of the building or its mechanical, electrical, or plumbing system.
These permits are legal documents that grant permission to construct or alter a building or other structure in accordance with approved drawings and specifications. Permits help assure that the construction meets all safety standards of the New York State Fire Prevention and Building Code and the Town of East Bloomfield code. Many repairs may not require a permit, such as siding, flooring, replacement of same size windows, etc.
To be sure, you should check with the Code Office by calling (585) 657-5455 or send an email to ebtcodeofficer@townofeastbloomfield.org or krayburn@townofeastbloomfield.org. You may also obtain a copy of site development and building permit applications below. Once the form is filled out, please print, sign and submit it to the Code Enforcement Office either in person or via email.

Please DO NOT send payment with your application unless you have been told by this office it is ok to do so.
Payment will be made once the fee is determined & the permit is issued.
NO permits shall be issued without proper INSURANCE CERTIFICATES on file in the Code Enforcement Office.
Most applications will be reviewed within 5-10 business days
